Commercial Blower Door Testing
Third-party air leakage testing of commercial buildings, including multi-fan setups, to help your project meet the Washington State Energy Code.
Meeting the Washington State Energy Code
We help builders, architects, and engineering firms achieve the Washington State Energy Code on commercial projects with third-party blower door testing. Send us your plan set or project details, and we'll talk through what your building needs.
Whole-building air leakage testing
Commercial blower door testing measures how much air a building's envelope leaks. Fans are sealed into exterior openings and used to pressurize or depressurize the building to a set pressure difference. The airflow needed to hold that pressure shows how tight the envelope is.
Multi-fan setups
Large buildings need more airflow than a single fan can deliver. A multi-fan setup runs several blower door fans together, controlled as one system, to reach the target test pressure on bigger envelopes.
Results
Commercial results are commonly reported as airflow normalized to the building envelope area at a stated test pressure, so buildings of different sizes can be compared.
